On The Temporary Balcony Behind The Dirty Window – Jessy Razafimandimby

On The Temporary Balcony Behind The Dirty Window, a solo exhibition by Jessy Razafimandimby, comprises a new body of work and departs from a fleeting moment of the artist’s quotidian practice at his studio. The exhibition takes such mundane moments and daydreams alike as a starting point, building upon them using text and a series of paintings that explore the interior space. In Razafimandimby’s practice, text and painting are tools to superimpose trivial situations, to allow the mind to wander and find the poetic within them. They often become interdependent, sometimes interchangeable.

In On The Temporary Balcony Behind The Dirty Window, the artist’s texts will be set against the backdrop of his paintings in a performance, punctually activating the exhibition.

The performance text has been recently published as a contribution to 1.1’s Text segment.
